Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Is everybody in Polaris going to get laid off when it’s done

Really feels like Polaris is where you get moved if there is no position for you and you weren’t PiP. So after Polaris project ends, I’m guessing that means you’re cut. If you are average performer I’d be worried.

Not necessarily the people on Polaris. But there will be some sort of program to offset the influx of people back into the normal streamlined work teams in IT and the business. 1 of 2 things happen:

  1. Program to reduce ~5% of workforce globally (US and GBCs)

  2. Another big project like Polaris comes along to save everyone.

It’s also possible/likely there are Polaris follow on projects that will require some of these folks to work. Either way, some downsizing likely but won’t be “just the people on the project”.

Yes everyone on the project knows that their job is on death row.
But then again, most of Exxon jobs are. Won’t even call it a career
