Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Request for Greater Transparency

I believe that many of us as professionals fully acknowledge the necessity for our company to adapt and respond dynamically to evolving market conditions.

However, I believe the primary concern we are facing as a team is the lack of transparency from leadership. It is disheartening that employees often have to turn to external websites like this one and forums to learn about important developments, decisions, and updates affecting our work and the company's direction. This not only breeds uncertainty but also undermines trust and morale.

We kindly ask: Why can't the leaders of this company prioritize transparent communication directly with employees?

We believe that addressing this would strengthen our collective commitment and morale!

Signed, a loyal long term VBG employee.

@b1 yeah it really felt like a rushed hatchet job. Thanks for confirming

Verizon "leadership" had an overwhelming task to administer these job reductions. They're time bound based on government notification timelines so there's not a lot of extra time to make decisions on who's impacted and then administer them accordingly.

I know this will not be a popular post, particularly for those impacted, but that's the reality of the situation from the other side.

I think verizon does well each time. All the info always seems to work out for the ones who look since there isn't too many different cases. Any correct info on this site is all found from Verizon. I never had coworkers that were layoff every say I don't know what to do or where to dpfind the info

We certainly weren’t hearing anything from Verizon leadership. Just silence. It’s infuriating.

Totally agree. I found the most helpful information on layoff.com. Completely ridiculous.
