Between quiet quits and full layoffs, I’ve lost track of how many faces are gone. Every week another familiar name disappears and the workload just piles up. At this point I don’t know how we’re expected to keep delivering with so many holes. And the cuts keep coming.

@e5 Real question, not snark. What the heck does OI do? Anytime I’ve interacted with someone from OI, it’s been a project manager-type. They usually don’t know key parts of a project, and there’s usually multiple OI resources on calls but it’s never clear who’s responsible for what and no ownership. What is OI’s main role or initiatives??
Who c@res.
@m7 You forgot to specify this isn't taking into account Indians, who drive up the average tenure to 10 years once included.
Average tenure at Optum is now 8-11 months. Probably higher in the 29-31 band but not by much. Lower and 32+ are walked off the plank before they even learn what the company does.
@ef of course. I find this site very informative along with many others. It’s is like a soap opera.
After nearly three years of following Optum’s erratic local adventures – the beleaguered phone system, the alleged upcoding, the patient billing complaints, the doctor exodus, and much more – the organization appears to be approaching an inflection point.
Local physician sources told me last week that Northwell Health is in discussions to assume control of several Optum specialty departments, including
@e9 And you have a life?
On a hunch checked 4 names, all gone. They are from OT, UHC IT… SG 28 -30. Pure random check due to this post !!
@ck Seems like you don’t have a life. This site is very useful. It helps those trying to make a decision to drop this company and go back to Medicare. It is required reading.
I was let go from OI in November. I don't think my team realizes how many of them will be let go by early 2026 as their work will also be offshored and eliminated. Please start applying now and have an exit plan. I was fortunate to have worked with a great team, but I feel a sense of relief not having the constant ancipation of job loss.
They want everyone overworked so they can give you that 2 then slap a pip or lay you off to replace you with a someone named Maharaja somewhere. I really think their way of ending parts of the business or things they don’t want anymore is to let it all fail and not meet to justify elimination the positions. Just to then open it back up under OGA and call it something new. Either way, I’m only working my 8 hours a day and also taking a break. They will not get extra from me. Log what you do everyday so you can show your work. Dont let them bully you into working extra hours for nothing. Dont give up holidays and time with your kids for this. Don’t be late for dinner for this. The extra hour you work will never matter anyways nor be acknowledged if they know. Just don’t do it anymore. Let that responsibility go.
Just another Drama Dude Post. Get a life and a job please
