Thread regarding IBM layoffs

x.data $*it-show since last 4 years

x.d*ta is currently not generating meaningful results and seems to be consuming resources without clear returns. The executive management appears to be spending heavily on travel( 4-5 times a year), often involving select individuals traveling between the US and Kochi, without any clear agenda just to attend the workshops. So far, the outcomes have been underwhelming, with releases that are difficult to understand from the release notes. subpar level releases where executives just pat each other's back after release.

While many employees in the US are facing job losses, some individuals who may not be contributing effectively appear to be receiving promotions or salary increases in India.
This should end, seriously !! few heads should roll now instead of RAing innocent engineers and managers ...entire focus is to make "kingdom" in kochi by this executive.. hope new VP takes notice of that and do long pending "purge"

x.d*ta feels like it’s reaching the end, and it’s hardly even mentioned next to .gov( .di) or .ai. People are talking about a “data platform” now, but changing names and cutting costs won’t win customers.
Somebody needs to shake up the leadership in .data and put an end to the culture of favoritism and people getting ahead just by pleasing the right bosses.

x.data is about as good as, and adopted as much, as IBM Cloud which is a NOTHING BURGER.

Kochi. Lovely.

Twice a week, in the wee hours, a mini tanker with “septage collection vehicle" written on it would drive into the service road on the Edappally bypass stretch of NH 47 in Kochi, open a pipe attached to the tanker and drain its foul-smelling content into a stream. Everything would be over in less than a minute and the tanker would speed away.

Yes, Unless you know someone and someone has your back it's almost impossible to survive with IBM. talk about any second level manager or FLM they just su-k up the chain without doing any real work and thrive( if they don't they used to get PIPEd /RA) People/Engineer who are honestly doing their work quarter after quarter are getting sidelined or RAed. That's the reason I left this company and if anybody is serious about career they should do the same.
I know data is totally f
ck*d up because of bad leaders and very "heavy" nepotism.

@OP what can you expect from $it-show run by Indians ? just more $it !

Half of the IBM CIO Management Club get travel perks to go all over the world; and yet under Joanne Wrong, they have MEDIOCRE accomplishments and achievements. Apparently they haven't been subjected to outsourcing yet, but that needs to happen. If you're not profitable and making money, then you're losing money. No excuses. Just terminate the incompetent managers starting with Joanne the Walrus. No more DEI garbage under the table. The market has plenty of talent and management who can do the job better and more cheaply than IBM id--ts in India ever could. And AI is getting better and better all the time. Who is paying Wall Street analysts like Oppenheimer to write great articles on IBM, when the sales are dismal and lackluster?
