No surprise here. Application Services or Asynchrony Labs have always been inconsistent when it comes to making money. We have been bought and sold several times over my career here. Each time we were profitable for the company initially but after 3 or 4 years they sold us. Same pattern here. Most of the people that were laid off were "on the bench" meaning they were being paid a good wage but not generating money for the company while waiting for a project. Of course that is not a viable business plan in today's economy.
The very somber year end meeting today, during which Jim said 'grit and determination' over and over again made me wonder. The finance meeting earlier in the week had a very casual mention of Costa Rica office and cost saving measures. Kinda sounds like some jobs moving to save money.
i heard they are laying off more too. big cuts coming with big tech related firms.
