Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I feel bad for those about to receive 2's on your performance review in February

Its more than likely not your fault, its a cr-ppy tactic of using the bell curve and even if you have 15 members on a team all of which are good performers, management is forced by leadership to pick a handful to give 2's to. Then you are placed on a PIP, and put under even more scrutiny and stress. In the past a PIP mean you if you showed improvement you would be taken off PIP and put back to a 3 next review, now its a death sentence and only a tactic to RIF you, its despicable. If you are not a favorite of management you will be given a 2. I know the job market su-ks but I would seriously start looking elsewhere, layoffs wont stop.

@be what do you consider “smaller teams”? I had 4 and absolutely had to give a 2. Not fake news.

@be I was forced to lower rankings even though the individuals performance did not align with a 2. They absolutely force you to lower rankings.

@be As a manger I iknow if I don't give out enough 2s/3s, my upline management will go in and lower the ratings.

@a6 the manager will get a 4 and your bonus percentage. You’ll be shopping for COBA plans rethinking your loyalty.

I wish people on here would share real info. We are not forced to give 1/2s but there is guidance on what percentages make sense across a team. In smaller teams, those guides are not mandated.

What about small teams that have been cut down to 2 workers and a manager? Would they have to pick one of the two to give a “2”?
