Back in the day Lowell ran the company with integrity. Back in the day Lowell said you could not be promoted to management within your market. The purpose of this was to evade the markets from becoming a good ole boys club. Since Lowell's retirement, Verizon has, in fact, become a good ole boys club. Maybe this reorg will fix that. Or maybe, we are in the death throws of a dying company.........

@OP I think the promotion of Flood should prove it’s still a good o’l boys club. Doesn’t deserve that job and hasn’t a clue what’s going on in the front line
Upon his retirement Lowell said that selecting Hans to succeed him was the crowning achievement of his career....
Perhaps the OP isn’t aware that Lowell handpicked Hans Vestberg as his successor over internal Verizon executives. Hans had been ousted as CEO of Ericsson in 2015 due to its underperforming stock. History doesn’t repeat itself but it does rhyme.
The internal candidates may not have been geniuses but they had a lot of experience running a large operator in the US. Hans lacked those qualifications.
Companies that remain successful in the long term take C-level succession planning very seriously.
Lowell was and is a low-life grifter. You have to hand it to him though. He got over big time on the shareholders. What a piece of sheet.
You are joking right? The outsourcing and offshoring began under McAdam. He overpaid for Wireless. The Yahoo/AOL deals were done under McAdam. He made many other expensive missteps. Integrity my a$$.
rose tinted glasses.
