@eg Upstate is merging with metro. Supposedly they merged markets based operational similarity and allegedly that means OPW & NE make sense on paper. We all know it makes no sense in real life, but that’s what happens when the people who make decisions don’t know anything about the work.

@aw False, in the wireless side in the switches you only need 1 person during the day for vendors and one person maybe at night if there is scheduled work. Otherwise everything else can be done by other grps. If you have security in the building you technically don't even need a day shift. The switches just need a body at this point

Lots of markets are merging. NorCal/NW, SoCal/SW, OPW/NE, ILWI/MIK. There will surely be another round of cuts once everyone settles into the new structure.

Georgia/Alabama will merge with Florida. I expect another layoff centered around the Alpharetta office.
