Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

I joined GF less than six months ago

What are my chances of being laid off? I turned down another good opportunity to accept this position and if I now end up jobless, I don't know what I'm going to do. I know this is my fault. I did research the company before joining but I should have widened my research. I now realize LinkedIn and Glassdoor are useless.

Another 100mil for 2023, and less executive then, so if you missed it this round, the chances are higher next year.

Your chance of survival at GF is an exponential function of how often and how hard you licked the boots of your boss at meetings, in emails and on LinkedIn. Nothing to do with your years of service , competency or results.
Onwards, upwards & oneGF

I bet they roll out a new catch phrase soon. But same tu-d dressed into a different wrapper. You are right don’t buy into these bullsh-t mantras that come out of managements mouth. These layoffs in light of the good earnings report and also the insider trade info posted on here…. “Not very onegf of them” Hahaga that should be our sassy retort back “not very onegf of you brah”

Even if you’re safe now, don’t believe TC won’t layoff again. Don’t believe the ONEGF BS.

HR most definitely goes on there or hires bots/farms to pump up reputation ratings on these sites

Look at this one (scroll down to rating overview graph)
https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Globalfoundries
Huge jump from 2021 to 2022?!
And if you read through the reviews you can see the fake bot ones… generic none specific responses like “great place to work”

HR we see you!!

We should rating bo-b these sites. Drop Globalfoundries to the 1 star it really deserves!

You should always talk to some former employees and current employees and see what their experiences are. Reach out on Linkedin or through friends/coworkers. Maybe start doing that for your next opportunity when you are evaluating their offers.

Looking to see when and how often a company does layoffs is not an opinion. The comments might not entirely define a culture but it sure does tell me enough to skip over a company due historical proof of layoffs.

A companies culture is not the opinion of a few people on this website.

What dept. you in? Chances are you'll be fine unless the dept. you're in gets phased out or currently are on a PIP (Performance Improvement plan). If you're in somewhere in management, that's iffy as they are going to trim that up quite a bit from what I hear.
