RA notification timing

Does anyone know when your upline knows who will be RA'd? I hear there is another layoff supposedly end of December and was curious when management will know.

Would I have to interview or can my manager recommend me and I can jump the line ?

Do what I do... I only read my e-mails on Monday, then never check my e-mails until the following Monday. My manager wants to schedule that dreadful 15 minutes call... he better find another way. I am no longer on Slack or checking Slack either. I also returned by IBM phone and my personal phone number is obviously not published.

If everyone is asking... I get my job done just fine without being connected.

@az so true. It has been over 25 years for me and every single year, being a single parent, I feared for that last minute meeting invite. Every single damned year, sometimes more than once.

So sad every person at IBM spends more than 50% of their day worrying about being the next person to be kicked off the island. IT DID NOT USED TO BE LIKE THAT WHEN I STARTED! Every person at IBM will have their Bingo number called at some point as they hire more and more incompetent people based on age, s-x, race, skin color etc and offshore jobs to many places people cannot find on a map. So sad every IBM person (I know longer say IBMer since that was forcefully wiped out by Gerstner) goes to bed at night and puts their head on their pillow and asks God "...will I get an unusual invitation from my manager tomorrow?...".

@ag I second that proposal, and also propose that ALL first and second level managers in the CIO organization under the F&O Walrus Joanne Wrong be put on the next layoff list. They do nothing but run to meetings, travel for unnecessary purposes and achieve a sum total of ZERO. What purpose do they serve the company and the shareholders ? Fewer employees should mean fewer managers, particularly in an Agile environment. And most employees are adults and can police themselves, or even better, AI can police them. No need for expensive managers or directors.

I hear it will be the week after Thanksgiving, and it is supposed to be larger than the one we just got in the US. Do that is not good! I thought we were done and could at least breath until Feb-Mar of 2026… it does not look like it will be the case.
