Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Store employees

Do store employees earn commission on a phone sold to an employee? I was going to upgrade my kids phones for Christmas and order them online, but if an impacted employee can earn commission, i would rather go to the store instead.

Yes, store employees get commissions. If you don't get insurance or perks, place the in-store pick-up like another suggested, and have a representative (not a manager) release the order. Upgrades don't pay that much, but this was a very considerate question (coming from one of the direct retail reps affected).

@a1 OP said they wanted to help an impacted employee. Meaning impacted by the layoff.

Yes they get full credit just as if you were a normal customer.

Place online order as in store pickup (not locker). Reps still get comission on in store pickups. (Assuming a manager doesn’t process the pickup)
