Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

AI Bubble is Popping

Unemployment rate is already 4.4% and climbing to numbers we've seen during Covid. If AI is about to replace us, who's going to buy services and products from Dell? Mostly corporate customers use Dell, and they are going to be hit hard by bubble bursting... hold your hats, we are going to have a crazy ride in 2026

Honestly, AI isn't replacing anybody's jobs here. At least not in the corporate world. I know that's what we keep being fed over and over again but it's simply not true.

What AI is doing is getting rid of roles/positions that don't need 500 people working in. HR for example. WTF do they actually even do? They sure af aren't reviewing resumes - that's been done by AI for a LONG time already, - are they really needed to onboard a new employee, no. For fireing/laying off I'd say yes though.

Honestly, same with lawyers... 99% of their job is reviewing lawsuits and reading contracts or whatever. Something AI can do in a matter of minutes for 1/4th the cost.

We still need humans in every division but the amount of humans in certain orgs is simply overkill IMPO

All I hear about the expansion of AI is how many data centers will have to be built. I assume that these data centers are full of servers. I think we sell servers.
