They got the higher paid, and the lowest performers off the books before the new year.

@a7 you apparently are clueless. We have outside people like contractors and external partners in Slack. Not everyone got the same off date. People got 30, 60, and 90 days depending on the state
@a7 You can't go by slack. Slack includes contractors and some outside vendors. Verizon currently (before this RIF) had just UNDER 100,000 employees, including international and union.
OP is frigging troll. The list of people in my organization that were let go had nothing to do with wage or performance. Random people picked. Supervisor had no input. Will see how things go after December 19th when they another big fiber cut and have no one to find, fix it.... will not be my problem at that point.
