@OP this was well over due. Every company has too much fat and plenty of places to trim.

Dan needs his vision to come from his special advisor, Hans.
I'm in the same boat as everyone here, awful, sleepless past couple of weeks, pounds gained from eating my way through the emotional turmoil, the exhaustion of yesterday, and all the things.
But at the same time, the public and everyone else isn't really qualified to suggest is this was the right strategy or not bc no one knows what Dan's vision is yet, aside from understand that he wants AI out the a$$.
Not defending the guy in ANY way. In fact, I think it's absurd that we haven't heard more about the vision yet. At the same time, people need to stop acting like they know what's best for a vision and plan they know nothing about yet
Vz survey asked would I recommend working at Vz? They've been laying off once, sometimes twice a year for over a decade; in fact hasn't grown for at least 15 years. I would discourage anyone from working here. So far I've survived, but the writing is certainly on the wall; it's time to find a new job under my terms.
They have been doing huge layoffs since Hans came in. He destroyed Ericcson and now Verizon.
Sounds like Verizon will drive customers away using tactics like huge layoffs
