If you’re still employed, try to get union. People should feel secure about their job and not stress about if they’ll have a job the following week, or month. This isn’t the end of the layoffs. Get some protection. The unions are there for a reason.

@a4 ohh yeah paying the retirees the money they deserve building the network it is today. Not the bloated salaries of all the execs who jack sh-t all day. Look at Dan for example, 1-2 million salary with 50 million in bonuses incentives… yeah sure they’re the problem…
@a2 they actually do to a certain extent. They can’t just lay off techs, they have to offer and isp/buyout and if they don’t get the headcount they need then they layoff.
@a7 Thank you for making my point..
@a4 that's nothing compared to the silly purchases that have been made. AOL?
@a6, Do you drive a car? Brilliant idea. At no time in history has a car ever crashed and ki-led its occupant.. ...Oh wait...

Brilliant idea. At no time in history has a union member been laid off.. ...Oh wait...
@a4 What’s eating them financially is making bad business decisions and then cashing in their fat checks every year. They want you to think the unions are the problem, so you don’t see that the real problem is them.
The unions are part of the reason Verizon is failing and struggling There like a boat anchor they can’t get rid themselves of….having to pay pensions and insurance is eating them financially.
@a2 When they bargain for it and get it in a contract it does.
Unions don't guard against layoffs
