We do layoffs every holiday season.
You will be laid off eventually.
I'd estimate half of you will be laid off by the summer

@2dk. I quite quit during NTM when I got a prevena quota of nearly 30%. Im definitely getting a does not meet expectations this year because im "only" up 12%.
Anyone that wants that unreliable cheaply built piece of sh-t already uses it. At least I'm going to the wound care side so I don't have to see another one of those tu-ds for a while. Looking forward to a 20% quota and a PIP. I wish they'd had called my number this go around.
@2b9 Bryan and Heather and company will simply drive off good sales reps, either through firings or voluntary quits. The competition will win every time as Solventum reps will throw up their hands and just quiet quit when the goals are unachievable. Share price will remain stagnant. No dividends for years. Businesses sold off to reduce debt. No growth plan except for the dining budget for the new VP.
@10n I appreciate your genuine try to add light but as a rep, this optimism is a luxury a lot of us reps can’t afford due to those who structure our comp plans.
SIP based on attainment of quota on a YTD scale isn’t aligned with stacking teams with reps that are driven by pay to blow up their territories and work hard. Our company is behind in comp both structurally and monetarily. In today’s world for those in their 20s and 30s trying to creating a solid foundation for their futures, staying will be a penalty and will come at a high cost for their wallets and resumes.
Not to mention the company’s glaring problem of not paying those who have delivered results for several years and hold higher ROI more than those who are brought in outside the company.
@189 it would be wise for Acera employees to keep their knowledge of customers and technical details close to their vest. Bryan and his cronies would love nothing more than Acera employees trying to make a good impression and divulging too many details that make them worthless retainers once Bryan gets orders from above to layoff more employees to meet quarterly earnings estimates.
Don't give him and the band of misfits any satisfaction. Just smile and take your skills to SOLV competitors. Bryan's four year plan will make Maos five year China plans (that starved China) look like a genius.
@10n just think, if you keep working on your lip puckering strength, I could see you making it to advanced mid-level manager in 10 more years! Get those reps in!
@189 never trust a man with fake hair and Botox. Look at his bios from his past job and see he has miraculously de-aged about 10 years. Fake as a three dollar bill.
Dear Acera colleague,
Solventum manager here and was from 3M. Don't trust what Hanson says. He has been lying through his teeth for 2 years and cutting headcount where it doesn't make sense. Now he has cut functions which drive top line sales too, which makes even less sense!! We should be driving top line sales and establishing the reputation of the new company in the industry, but it seems Hanson is more interested in doubling his annual salary by meeting profit targets through headcount reduction instead of top line sales growth. I'm so sorry that Acera was acquired by Solventum.
I told them I’m not gonna work here no more and didn’t do it. Ya know guy?
Hey as a mid level manager at Solventum and a legacy KCI employee for over 10 years I have been through it all. I will say I am super optimistic and excited by the new acquisition and I am very confident that Bryan and his team can lead Solventum to greatness.
@xs tireman and Moni were killers of the old 3M. Ki-ling jobs that were essential. The twosome likely started started HCBG toward its decline. Now we have Bryan making 40 million taking orders from some gravely old billionaire on a Florida yacht. This company is dead money. Even the MBAs on Wall Street have sold off SOLV shares. Good night to all.
When KCI was acquired, I hoped we'd keep at least some of their marketing team - they had expertise we didn't and that we needed. But nope, they were all gone in less than a year via layoffs.
And they wonder why products falter when those that previously had large teams go to having half or a third of one person's time after all the people from the acquisition are laid off.
Solventum has absurd quotas and maybe 15% of the sales force hits. Also, the comp isn’t great, so to all the Acera people expect jacked up quota and the days of consistently making $200k+ are gone.
And of course there will be layoffs. The cost of the acquisition can’t be followed by paying multiple reps in the same hospital and Solventum does need any of the managers or directors from Acera. They have their own .
@vq exactly on the PIP and quotas. Now with Heather on board, the quotas will increase exponentially. And true if a manager doesn't PIP the employee, they will be PIPed. She has to do something to justify a T&E allowance that would feed an army.
Manager here- The layoffs won't make any logical sense either. If you think you'll be safe because you've won presidents club multiple times or you're a top performer every year, you're wrong.
Also solventum pays percent to quota with ridiculous quotas. If you're under 85% they won't pay you anything and then fire you. Your manager will have some say in firing you. But if they don't PIP you and you miss quota the manager will be fired.
They will same “business as usual” or “doesn’t impact what we do in the field” or “just keep delivering”. But then they will cut 75%+ of the Acera sales people and 100% of the Acera managers. You don’t need to double pay reps on top of each other in hospitals and you already have managers. So you don’t need Acera’s.
See this playbook more that a few times in the industry. They will likely wait until after Christmas and sometimes it even take 3-4 months to finalize a transition plan, but it’s coming and it’s going to get ugly.
If you think I’m here to play around with y’all god da---t I’m not.
Hey Amy, stop pretending to be T Hislop. We know it’s you. Stop stealing all the doughnuts and chewing like a cow.
Welcome to the family. Remember, we are not here to make money, we are here to make friends :)
Layoffs every holiday season. And if you're not laid off, you'll be picking up all the extra work left behind from someone who was.
And Bryan will use his usual gobblygoop about why layoffs need to happen. Welcome to the career incinerator place. Sharpen up your resumes.
And don't bother trying to impress Bryan and his band of misfits like Heather. Free food though works with them until they are full.
