If you change salary curve, as in going up in ranking, you could get a bigger raise without a CL increase.

Disappointment.
Not enough to keep up with inflation unless maybe you also get a CL increase.
@c5 could be a blessing in disguise...new owner will likely have much more enthusiasm for your asset than EM. happened to my FIL back in the day, he got sold with his plant and ended up loving the new company
depends on group but here’s the rough estimate if you haven’t been maxed out in beqom pay band:
NSI / NI - 0%
G/VG/E- 0.5 -3%
E/O - 3-5%
OWD 3-5% plus RSUs
promotion = raise + 5%
@c5 what location do you work at?
It will be -3% next year due to inflation, give or take. And a bonus thank you email at some point due to your ongoing dedication to sustain company performance in creating value for shareholders.
@d1 if you’re smart with your money and can actually save, you will be in a much better position with another company than at XOM…
And also have more money to give to your kids when you pass since it isn’t tied to a DBPP
BRPP
The real competitive advantage to working at XOM is not salary but the pension and medical retirement benefits. If you can last 30 years, you will be better off than almost any company that pays more today. As a young employee, medical retirement has no value. But long term, it’s a massive benefit if you want to retire before 65.
Definition of retirement is 55 years old (75% of pension) or 60 years old (100% of pension)?
I am surprised that 1 out of 4 employees are only expected to make it to retirement globally.
@c5 what location?
Many will with an asset, many will be PIP, many will get Zero, those who drop in Rank group will get zero for many years or Pip later, some will be promoted and in higher rank group get PIP. Only 25% of employees hired make it to retirement
Raises?! We got told yesterday our asset was going on the market next month and didn’t offer any of us ways to stay with the company, just all of us employees were being “sold” with it…good luck!
A raise in blood pressure!
At this point if you get a raise it's an indicator that you are underpaid. Anyone already being paid a competitive or higher salary to the market is likely above the payband and won't receive a raise.
The company wants to incentive you to ask yourself what else is out there.
@b5 what else would you like? Home address ? SS#?
By how much did bands move?
No increases if NSI.
DW has a big raise for you
If you provide your YEE, CL, PA and current pay, I will tell you what your exact raise will be
They didn't give a percentage, but did say the external benchmark group is giving a 3% raise on an average. About 72% people will get a raise this year down from 80% last year if I remember correctly.
We are having lay offs everywhere and you are expecting a raise? Your supervisor likely will tell you to be thankful that you still have a job (and spare from the pip list).
