Are they sticking to plan to let people go by specific seniority bands and dates? Someone shared a doc with me that says tomorrow it’s only VPs and Sr Directors. Then the next level down the following week etc.

my understanding is that it is different for each org. i have talked with folks who know VPs let go today, others who knew last week and still others who were given a plan that stretched it until next week. my two cents is that it is being poorly planned and managed even worse.
This is probably the most obfuscate and poorly communicated one so far.
My SD confirmed to our team that everything is happening tomorrow 11/20. Didn't sound like anything would continue into next week, but he did also say there's already talk about another round of layoffs sometime in Q1 (no details).
I work in GNT and here’s what we are hearing as of 10:30EST on 11/19:
- If your AD is getting cut, your ED will notify your AD first thing in the morning tomorrow, and then notify ICs on the AD’s team. Depending on your ED, they may give the AD the option to call ICs if the AD would like to make those calls themselves.
- If your AD is not getting cut, they will get a list after 5pm today and they will start making calls at 8am tomorrow. They may not send calendar invites, so don’t infer anything from that.
- Once everyone is notified, your AD (or ED if your AD is impacted) will set up a call with the survivors.
This su-ks. It has been poorly managed. I’m sorry for everyone who will be impacted, and I’m sorry for survivors who are already spread thin and will be expected to take on inhuman levels of work. Everyone deserves better than what we are getting. Be nice to your colleagues, give everyone a little extra grace, and make sure you have everyone’s contact info on your personal phone.
Today and tomorrow. Some are being told today and the majority tomorrow.
@a2 Thanks for clarifying. I just want to know when this is all going to be over for this period at least.
That is not accurate. My direct manager confirmed we will be notified tomorrow if we are impacted. This is not continuing into next week.
