I've heard that another 10-15% of layoffs are coming around the corner. Our subscriber base keeps falling. I'd have to think this is accurate. What are other folks hearing?

@4tt just a ton of 100% fraud jobs. Customers had Directv installed 6 different times last year. Different names same people setup as commercial account twice. Stacks of equipment and they never pay a dime. Report it all day but the unmanagers just want the job closed. This company has no integrity anymore letting this happen for so long. It’s illegal to do it to because they are intentionally creating bad debt that they know will not get paid.
How many jobs you all doing daily. Seems like I’m just doing 1 service call a day.
@3h5 "No sign of a sale?" There's usually not any indication when a business is in negotiations to to sell, this is all by design for many obvious reasons. But when a deal is struck we'll all be first to know.
@35b is this English? So what does this mean? No sign of a sale?
@343 the LTIP is paying this week. We are supposed to land 2 in January. Previously Bill told us we would land 2 in January then on track for another in 1H ‘26. This is tied to TPG giving us credit for the final payments to ATT to close the transaction. For those who dont know, the LTIP is tied to cash flow and returns to our owners.
@2em all executive bonuses are being paid out in January which means something’s up
I have heard TPG is working on getting additional investors but don’t know what it means for us. I do know they have had a few new positions open that are tied to genre packs and growth but our wonderful leadership wanted to keep it quiet so they worked through external recruiters and never posted the roles. Some have been hired. These folks are effectively here to replace some people already here. Bill eluded to it in the town hall.
@1a9 are you serious? lol why would they just complete the sale of us to turn around and buy us?
@19 You are correct, I heard ATT/John Stankey wants another run at the video business.
FYI we are being sold at the moment. More to come but TPG is in contract with a buyer. Not sure who but I was told it will happen in Q1. Take it for what its worth.
@dt who is this fool who "believes" what our executive team says in town halls? OMG!! hahahaha. Yea, everyone, get your resume ready. DTV is a drowning ship.
@dt They will always claim "no mass layoffs!" and "only targeted segments!". That's a smokescreen. We saw huge "targeted" layoffs earlier this year that cut across the entire business (including streaming). I expect more as TPG asserts control.
Don’t believe what you hear in town halls, the transparency isn’t there even though they try to push that theory - they will never be honest with large layoffs.
'Reasons for DTV current status: Factors contributing to the decline include high costs, past management decisions, and an inability to compete with the flexibility of streaming services' Satellite broadcast is going away and if things don't improve with streaming you can count on the sale of all acquired assets, so TPG can get some return on it's investment.
Right, No reason to create panic by announcing mass layoff of X%. What was left out was all segments of the business will experience layoffs. TPG operates very lean and many will see this very soon.
That would contradict what was said in the last town hall. There will be layoffs but it will be in segments of the business but not a mass layoff of X%.
