RTO Complaints - Gross Office

Our VP sent an exhasperated email saying that she is doing all she can to "address the cleanliness concerns" in the office and that she has no control over the lack of desk availability. At least on our floor the break room fridge is a complete toxic waste zone and there are regularly old used plates and takeout containers with food still in them laying around.

Kinda funny that people at that level are having to hear and answer to those complaints. Maybe we can have a VP of Custodial Infrastructure?

It is a feature not a bug. They want mass resignations. We have some contracts that need to be signed 12/31 sitting going nowhere as everyone involved quit. So I guess that business is gone.

Yeah, I do my part to make the office grubby and gross. I never use a trashcan, never clean the sink or counters, and I've brought nearly-expired food from home to leave in the office refrigerators. 🤷‍♀️

This was never an issue with dedicated WFH so the solution is plain as day - we just need senior "leadership" to clue in. Until then, don't expect much change.

After they jammed in another 2,800 people, everyone is coughing and are getting sick in this flu season. It’s unfortunate a layoff site is being used to bring up these concerns. So much about transparency and employee welfare.

I got the impression from the email that she was playing 'Hall Monitor' possibly taking attendance.

The desk availability thing is a huge problem. Some floors are wide open with everyone on calls and no one collaborating, while others where the team actually is co-located - people have nowhere to sit.
