Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

Trying to Track Layoff Patterns

I’m trying to connect with other employees (former or current) who’ve noticed what seems like a pattern of POC being disproportionately impacted by recent layoffs.

Rather than rely on rumors or surface-level reporting, I want to collect real data from people who’ve experienced it directly.

The goal isn’t to name names... it’s to highlight a potential pattern that may otherwise go unseen. If enough people contribute, we could create something powerful and fact-based to bring visibility to what’s happening.

Please comment race/ s-x of the people who have laid off in your division this year.

You are barking up the wrong tree- all layoff names had to be reviewed by HR and Legal to make sure there was no pattern of bias well before the date people were notified.

If you were laid off it’s because your position/dept was being eliminated, role was redundant, or you were a low performer. Race, Gender, Age, and S-xual Orientation had nothing to do with it.

@bb You are kidding right? You are confusing the talent with the suits.

I have been saying this for the last 2 years. At the top of their list is people who dont have kids and are single. About 5 people in my department all single, no kids got laid off compared to their counterparts who were worse at their job who had kids they were putting through college or little babies. There is a pattern.

If you're an older white hetero male thought to be either conservative or moderate leaning politically, forget any type of lower/mid level career in this business. If you're high up in the C suite you can "let your hair down" if you're over 50 and have banked plenty of money already.

But man, my advice to any young white dude under 30 trying to navigate this woke, anti white racist corporate world is to reevaluate what you want to do with your life and goals. The racism you will face comibned with AI, you really should be looking at manual labor but high skilled careers. Or starting your own small business. Also consider avoiding cities like NY/LA/Chicago. Good luck my brothers!

The 3 colleagues I worked with who were let go were all highly skilled white males. They were let go while many others on the same teams who do next to nothing remain. I don’t get it.

Waste of time. Don’t forget that company probably had more minorities, lgbtq and women to begin with (compared to Fortune 500) due to its culture and policies (including bonuses based on minority hiring). So if your majority is minorities then your layoffs will reflect it. If u tell me that few minorities are execs — they also said 1/3 laid off were svp and above.
