Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Training my own replacement

I'm pretty sure that's what's going on now. Which is why I'm making sure to leave some stuff out. I have no intention of teaching him everything. There are things he doesn't even know yet that are part of my duties and he's not going to find out. I'd love to be a fly on the wall after I'm laid off and my boss tells him to take over. It'll be interesting, to say the least.

Try to get your replacement to quit.

It's very clear to me the people that remain at what was once Citrix have lost all hope of a successful turnaround. Meanwhile, TK and his minions must be struggling to fix the mess that they inherited. In hindsight, I'm so glad that I left when I did. What a fiasco.

"Somewhat dysfunctional" he says. Depending on the org you are taking over it can be a complete catastrophe.

Some of those teams have slowly been suffering destruction by attrition. 2+ years now of watching talented engineers leave and never getting any backfills. And then having senior leadership say that we were/are overstaffed as is while getting crushed by work. I know of a handful of departments that are unrecognizable in both moral, productivity and work ethic to how they were just a few short years ago.

So yes, spare a though for those poor Tibco line managers who have to try and piece together the shambles of a department and for those of us who are staying, let's hope the line managers care enough, and the leadership above them allows them the budget and flexibility to rebuild entire departments that were systematically mismanaged and destroyed by our previous "leaders".

Spare a thought for the Tibco line managers instructed to manage the integration (aka take-over) of the larger and somewhat dysfunctional Citrix organisation. Let’s reach out to them and work together concertedly. There may be opportunities to make things better.

It’s ok to hurt hedge funds. Do what’s best for you.

All I have to say is; we’d all like to think that we are irreplaceable. The fact of the matter is that unfortunately everyone is replaceable. It doesn’t matter if you leave stuff out. They will move on likely they are rebuilding the unit anyways so what you think may have been instrumental, won’t be. I do wish you the best of luck tho. Whether you stay or go; everyone deserves to be happy ✌️☮️

"I'd love to be a fly on the wall after I'm laid off"

After you're terminated, nobody will miss you. You are a hateful leech. A Citrix legacy.

You're not screwing over Citrix -- they'll be fine no matter what. You're just making life harder for the person who has to do the job. That's childish. GROW UP.

Why would I do Citrix any favors? They want to get rid of me? They can train my damn replacement themselves.
