Salaried workers have big egos and think they're better than everyone else and management will see that and treat them well. They think unions are just to protect lazy losers, when it's really just about fair treatment. Bad employees in a union can still be fired.

If the union gets more money they can make it up by paying salaried less.
There's no contract that says they can't.
I guess salaried people can leave, but where can they go in this job market?
We're higher trained than union, without any of the protectionism of the unions. Plenty of blue collar workers should be fired but aren't. Blue collar gets away with way too much and costs the company way more with incompetence and more privileged demeanor.
GTFO and go read the JES you overpaid crybaby.
This is divisive garbage.
Right in the wallet.
They're paid way more than they're worth
Can you show me on the doll where the salaried worker touched you?
Are you just projecting your insecurities into the void?
Classism in the auto industry is as old as the auto industry. Why does it always have to be "us vs. them".
Ok and?
You must be a new union employee. Do the rest of us a favor and compile a more thorough post before you sh-t your thoughts all over the interwebs. Is there a question, a concern, what's the point here?
unions protect plenty of the stereotypes more often than not. The drunks, guys working side jobs, the braindead nepo babies, all the usual suspects. The trick is to not worry about what other people are doing here. If you can pull that off then you might have a long productive career.
Tribalism, division and stupidity.
Halmarks of the socialist union man.
If you had just graduated from high school and wanted to go to college, what would you major in where you think you'd be able to have a 30 or 40 year career?
Not sure college is a win anymore.
With AI, college boys are now a liability. We need men who can work with their hands.
Every salaried worker thinks they're above average so they can negotiate above average pay with management on their own.
They don't realize that the above average raises go to their manager 's favorites and everyone else gets a token 1 or 2 percent raise no matter how good they are. Or think they are.
