Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Eli Lily Dropping Caremark

This is apparently a big story: Eli Lily is dropping Caremark as their PBM and moving to Rightway (same as Tyson Foods had done a few years back). Rightway is a fee service PBM (no rebates, odd pricing, etc).

I feel like CareMark is really endangered

Not as big a deal as many say...especially here.

This happens regularly over the years as Aetna, CVS, Caremark make business decisions and firms also do.

Before all the mergers Caremark had Anthem BCBS and then dropped them. Anthem did the same. CVS buys Aetna and drops BCBS RI and they do the same. A few others along the way.

Plus, in the PBM world, which I know, there is a regular churning of customers. They get Caremark and after a few years get a better deal from Medco/ESI and move on. Few years later a better deal elsewhere. Pretty much these firms offer the best deals and service to start and then get lazy so a move every so often helps.

Even though its just one contract, I can't believe this will not spread further.

So Caremark is losing ANOTHER big contract?? Corporate greed will be the downfall of CVS.
