Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Crack CSG social media team

  1. LinkedIn shows a post from some CSG flunky which says "we're hiring!"
  2. The post actually says "... if you've been impacted by the recent tech layoffs".
  3. Someone replies "you mean like you firing 15% of the company?"
  4. Post is deleted within the hour.

LOLOL

Some promotions were legit though. Some handsome title upgrades across the Customer Success leadership layer. BU’s as well.

No of these CSG muppets got promoted and their LinkedIn posts are actually quite embarrassing.

Let's see how "excited" and "grateful" those people are in six months.

Agreed. I don't really fault people for updating their LI profiles and sending out the automated announcement that LI sets up. But some of those long, effusive "I'm sooo excited and sooo grateful!!!" promotion posts were a bit much. I saw some of those literally the day after the big layoff, some from people I'd worked closely with and helped look good. (I got laid off.) Did make me rethink how I feel about those people.

Can't wait for a Citrite to respond to the ads running on Twitter about "Where did you work from today?" or whatever the headline is.... "I worked in Citrix' office because our CEO believes it's impossible to be productive using Citrix' technologies to work from home. You?"

Social media folks at most tech companies are not smart. They're the 21st-century equivalent of a fax machine operator (yes, there were people who once did that as a job).

Some of those new jobs are promotions of the folks who were deemed "essential enough" to CSG. Seeing those in my LI feed amidst the ongoing carnage strikes me as being in rather poor taste & has me rethinking how much respect those folks deserve from me, regardless of whether they merited such advancement anyway.

The announcements of a "new job with CSG" on LinkedIn are nearly always done by someone in the same position, but the job title has changed. CSG changed many job titles after the acquisition closed. Most are not new job placements or promotions.

Have you seen CSG's Glassdoor reviews? They can't delete those.

It's funny, in a twisted and bizarre way, to see all the LinkedIn posts from people announcing their new jobs at CSG. Is this translated as "I'm replacing a more expensive person who TK canned"?
