Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

25% bonus.

So it did not matter if I've worked my a-s off this year to help shoveling this company out of its management misery. It won't be reflected in the 25% bonus, is this correct?

This questions comes across a bit entitled and I see a bigger issue with poor middle management and HR practices.

The 2 issues that I see:

  1. If the company is doing sh-t then don't expect a great bonus. - That is the point of a bonus. - You should budget your life around salary not bonus.
  1. The bigger issue is the poor HR communication around "Fully Met Expectations" or 3/5 - The company is filled with a lot of talented people and therefore the important things is that doing your job well should be a 3.5/5 on average. 60% of people should be around 3/5, 20% above, 20% below with less than 5% either a 1/5 or a 5/5.

I have had issues twice taking over teams where the previous line manager had totally screwed up the team by not setting proper targets and managing expectations. Then you come along and give a mediocre member of the team a 2.5/5 and all he-l breaks loose as they got 5/5 for the last 5 years.

I also had issues with dept peer managers who try and rate their staff at 5/5 and then when you have to do team line-up people get shafted depending on which manager shouts the loudest for their team.

Whomever stated you need 5/5 to get 100% of your bonus must not work here- or must not pay attention.

A rating of 3 of 5 = 100% bonus

A rating of 5 would payout nearly 135-150% depending on level

That being said - everyone is just getting a flat 25% of your total capable bonus no matter what. It’s honestly fair considering the market performance / financial hits just keep coming.

Anyone that expected full bonus after such a cr-p year in sales and margin - needs their head examined.

I also got some clarity and you are correct, it is 25% regardless of performance. Same w the stipend on P level, the amount is the same for everyone.

@1frj+1kZHTUVI 100% agree on the whole review system being rigged against employees. If you read My managers feedback you would expect that I’m getting 5’s across the board but the ratings were all 3. It blew my mind because the other (more senior) co worker on my team is lazy as he-l, waits until the very last minute to complete projects, and steals and plagiarizes almost all of their work. If I got all 3s for ratings they damn well better have a score so low their on a PiP

The board gets their money so does the consulting firms who were part of the fiscal year! The employees both hybrid/campus or remote are feeling the squeeze /. Managers aren't allowed to rate employees high and instructed not to give good feedback despite the tears, the work and or the hours. So even if its 25% no one is getting the full bonus because no one is getting 5/5. Keep that in mind when the system is rigged and you can't get 5/5's what does it matter. Search bonus on this site of the other companies that are trending on here, it's all the same it's a circus and magic show,,,,, you made it through the year congrats. Now stress about layoffs but here's your 15% bonus vs 13% inflation and cost of living in america. hang shake emoji and middle finger emoji. But hey we launched a new log called sportswear imagine that a sportswear company putting the word sportswear on our goods. WTH

Line managers (at least me) were informed just one week earlier, but with the same cryptic e-mail.

To be fair, this is the exact same thing they did for the 2020 bonus - when we were in the middle of COVID and also in a precarious financial situation…That doesn’t take away the sting, it’s VERY disappointing.

HR is terrible at explaining these things…The way I read it is you should expect your bonus payment at 25% of whatever your contract bonus rate is, NO MATTER your MyBest rating.

For example, $100K salary at 15% bonus = $15,000 * 25% == $3,750

The key question here is: do they (the board) also, effectively get a pay cut?

A second question, are they also cutting back on the shares buyback program?

All of this, coupled with the hybrid working biased survey results, show that this company lost the script and don’t care about its people. Joke after joke after joke. There’s a limit, change must come before it’s too late.

my understanding is 25% payout is for a frequently rating. If you perform above (is it 3.5/5? I forget) it would be 31%. still isn’t much. Line managers knew about this a few weeks ago and had to keep quiet about it.
