Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

NJ WARN Pay

Anyone familiar with the current NJ WARN laws and how it will apply to corporate employees during a layoff? So many articles online provide information on the revision to the WARN act in April which doesn’t help..
If BBB lays off more employees before April without the 60 days notice, does that mean employees are due the 4 weeks of severance plus the 1 week of pay per year served?

Anyone who has been laid off at corporate can also easily answer this. thank you!

Could we stop with the blanket statements regarding severance.
A promise of severance is nothing but noise.
I am one of the employees laid off January 10. I can not speak for anyone else, but I have a fully executed contract for payment of severance. Of course BB&B is in breach for non payment.
The people posting the majority of non sense on this site should refrain from posting before reading the quote from Mark Twain; “It is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

If they give you notice they don't need to post a warn. They will probably tell you you have x number of days and then send you an email that will serve as your warn notice.

There isn't even money for payroll. So you can probably figure it out for yourself.

Severance is not guaranteed....especially during a bankrupcy.

Store employees that closed in December were promised severance but that stopped at the beginning of January.

Employees laid off on January 10th were promised severance but they will not receive it .

Severance is not a requirement anywhere in any state. You get nothing. The company has no money!!! Corporate will be cut to bare bones next as there are almost no stores left to run.
