Thread regarding TransCanada Corp. layoffs

Employee town hall

So it is confirmed, lay offs will happen as they finish evaluating the fit for purpose model.

Canada made some Org changes and some BU in the U.S.

Assume more to follow end of Feb early March.

Where is the company even going to get the money to severance people out right now when Coastal Gaslink is costing $8,300,000,000.00 more than estimated. A $6B project turned into a $14.5 BILLION project!!

I guess that’s what happens when you run off or lay off competent people, with decades of experience, who know how to pipeline, operate a system and run projects, only to put in new flash over substance “leadership”. It sure would be nice to get an activist investor group to take over and get this company back to running properly.

Many people were promoted and working out of Texas with extra perks and pay. They need to be let go. HR and Compensation groups are “too fat” in the organization

Just be happy she’s gone. Not that this current crew is any better.

How does someone who presided over gong show CGL get a promotion to CEO of a major Railway? The Peter Principle is alive and well at TC, except that people often rise 2-3 times above their level of incompetency.

I wish they’d ask people who want a package to come forward & volunteer. My morals won’t let me perform to that level. I’m sure people of a given gender/colour they hate will be first on the list if opportunities present themselves.

I think this was the first time I heard Francois acknowledge that we are a pipeline company in a positive light. Even got a few cheers from the crowd. Hopefully wasn’t just words cuz first few years under this guy have been nothing more than “meh”. The real question is which assets are we going to “divest”….

I can’t wait to see the revolutionary never been seen before changes by these geniuses that have actually been done dozens of times. Bloat cut repeat. Good luck everyone. Ego is bad for business.
