It seems to me that the company wanted larger layoffs but they could not afford the severance. (I remember a while back someone posted and SEC filings that part of the sale requires them to pay severance for a specific time frame) TK is behaving like an a-s on purpose, trying to force you to quit.
This has and unintentionally/intentional side effect of keeping the submissive and people who have no choice but the put up with sh-t because they have a family to support
