Did Juniper Sell Our Personal Data During Covid?

I moved in Feb 2020 to an apartment complex, when I updated the unit/box number, I put the wrong one. It wasn’t even close to the correct number. For whatever reason I typed this number and had to go back and correct it. I know this for a fact because it was the only time I mistakenly used this number. Suddenly this unit is getting mail from random credit card companies, a company called “upstart”??, and a few others. Oddly enough, the mass pike which doesn’t have any association to Massachusetts was also sending mail to that box number. I never updated my license or registration with that incorrect detail.

If anyone lives in an apartment complex, go to peoplesoft or whatever it’s called today and change it to another box/unit number for about 2-4 weeks then change it back- see if that box/unit starts receiving mail from various companies. The mail person is kind enough to give me my mail even tho the spam mail is still being addressed to the wrong unit/box.

Juniper, I did not consent to this!

More likely one of Juniper’s vendors sold it. Payroll, insurance, etc.

It sounds like you are ok with our personal data being sold? As if you are trying to normalize it? It may not be human trafficking or anything as severe as such but my personal data is my personal data, I gave NO consent for this to be allowed. No means no.

Companies like The Work Number and Truework get this information from payroll companies and sell it companies like Upstart. This is all made possible by companies like Juniper. Imagine how hard it would be for these companies to collect all this data if their network ran at ten megabits. They wouldn't be able to siphon and process all this data if it were not for Juniper. If there weren't companies like this, you wouldn't have a job, because companies wouldn't need fast Juniper switches and routers.

You can research more about these companies in the links below.
