Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

I have endured 20 years with this company.

My spiritual advisor says time for a move. What do you think ?

I'm speaking with my horse (yes my horse) at midday. He is wise and will tell me whether I'm insane or sane.

Surprised you still have directional drillers after the shambles with stoneywood / kirkhill drilling dept. What a freaking shambles.

Are all our BH directional drillers insane ?

You're going to have to ask a directional driller from HAL or SLB, we only have a couple left here as our market share is embarrassingly low

Just waiting for my yearly bonus, then I will seek advice from an insane directional driller whether I should jack it all in.

Continue to take the cash and when it goes ti-s up you get a payout and move on, simples, what’s not to like?

Check your money, investments, debts etc. Update the resume and look around to see what you find. I would recommend looking for a job while you have a job. Then politely turn in your two weeks notice when the RIGHT opportunity comes into your life, pray for it. It does mean starting over at a new company or starting your own company. There is more than one company out there. I would look for advice from your close family and friends. Figure out how much longer you need to work, if you don't need to work retire for a bit and look around. I know sometimes it gets rough and a bit silly (I phrased it nicely). I understand your frustration for sure.

Get out or sink with the ship. Go contribute to an organization that really cares about you and customers. Not one that is telling everyone about their vaporware in Italy right now. What a joke. Heads will be cut to pay for the party that yields more empty promises and marketshare decline.

Majority of recruits are like that. They grew up thinking they have to xxxx someone else before they xxxx you. Dog eat dog is what they know.

My location was full of nasty toxic unfriendly aggressive people. Could not believe anyone saw that as a normal environment. Some folk must have had a rotten life to turn out like that.

I worked for Baker for over 20 years. Initially they were good to work for, most of my Management came up through the ranks and knew their stuff. Later on they did not have a clue, inventing new policies and procedures just to make it look as they were doing something.
However, by far the worst, in my experience, is what I refer to as the “Human Remains” Dept. Some of the things I have witnessed them doing, and been on the receiving end of, were totally disgusting. Common sense, ethics and morals were just nonexistent.
Anybody else feel the same?

There’s a fine line between character building and soul destroying. 5 years done it for me. 🤪

Your "Spiritual Advisor" must have lost his ASSets investing in this company, just like the rest of us little people.
