Reverse undeserved promotions

It has been a few months and I've worked closely with a few senior Directors who has been newly promoted last year in QCT. They do not deserve it and they are not capable enough. They are just very good engineers nothing more. The entire promotion process has failed their stock holders. I know of more qualified and individuals who have more presence and capability.

The newly promoted Sr Dir in my dept is not doing anything different than before and is dead weight. It does not make sense how he got that promotion. Let us get rid of all managers and make them engineers on projects. Just have one VP.

You can make director in 10-15 years if you wear a Star of David to work every day at Qualcomm. For Christians, its 100-150 years, mostly ...

There is some truth to that. Anything above director is all a-s kissing.

I agree. Managing and Engineering are 2 very differnet skillsets. Althought I highly doubt the Sr Directors were "very good engineers" to begin with. One Sr Director showed me some applications he had written and it was embarassing. If I was him, I would have kept it to myself. Later, during a project, I asked him a technical question, and he was clueless. Later on, thanks to some obvious cronyism, he got promoted to VP. The guy never generated any revenue for Q, and he has a high turnover rate of peple quitting under him. Trust me, at a certain level the only reason for promotions are NOT based on merit.
