Cut the free food. Cut the benefits. Cut interns. Cut silly titles. Cut the gym. Cut everything but work and cut people who do not want to work.

@1tyd+1kSFEnj7 "tp paper"? Seems a little redundant no? Kinda like ATM machine or cheese quesadilla? Or is this your way of saying you're redundant?
While at it, let's change the tp paper to the super thin kind that you find at the gas stations. Save some more $$.
Be careful of what you wish for. I would rather maintain a small highly talented happy crew than a large disgruntled mediocre bunch. Cutting these "silly" perks could make a cultural shift, forcing the employees to settle for less.
Just should cut all that but keep the massages. And the sleep pods.
Give executives food stipends? I think they make enough money to buy their own food!
Just cut free food in general. it was trend to get and retain employees. It’s not needed anymore.
Give your employees good healthcare, a matching 401k, paid 5 weeks of vacay (enough of the unlimited vacation BS, we know what that scheme is all about), opportunities for upskilling/education, timely promotions, a hybrid work schedule, tools to do their jobs efficiently and effectively and everyone is happy! Personally all the free food cr-p made me fat and lethargic.
Google and other (Meta, etc...) get the behaviors that they reward.
When you combine poor business planning with a culture of mediocrity this is what you get. When you walk into a place (whether you have multiple years of experience or not), and watch that more emphasis is placed on pretending (i.e., cute selfies eating the fancy cupcake in the cafeteria, or wearing your custom made Converse in google colors, or competing for who has the most and coolest stickers in the laptop), discretionary performance goes to the drain, is that simple. What is the message? I am being paid to "look cool", so I will look cool. Performance? I will not rock the boat and just do my job.
Cut all of that, less benefits and see who gets to stay. Nobody in this place wants to work in a sweat shop...
um .... well, that's 50% of google
food is a huge expenditure. make it paid (like Apple). for executives give them a food stipend or a free food card. let staff-level pay (they know who they are). this also cuts down on snack hoarding too.
