Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

This is ridiculous

Jeff needs to realize shopping habits have changed since COVID. WE are open 3 hours more than the mall, STUPID. No customers after the mall closes, plus we are sitting ducks for the criminal element and no security to walk us to our cars.

A hundred times this. How can nobody see that this is both a waste of money and a safety issue is beyond me.

It is up to the store manager to decide what hours are best for there geographic business they are the CEO's of there store, with that said they have run that by there divisional manager. But you never see them working those longer extended hours

President of Stores has to realize this and take action. The CEO is responsible also so both need to look at the numbers and stop letting money walk out the door. Foolish not to have an AP presence as a lot of other retailers do.

The last hour or two there are no customers and only 1 part timer per floor to close.

Your store manager would have to cut payroll if there are less store business hours. He/She probably does not want to layoff or cut associate hours. This is why they keep the long hours. Yes it does not make sense but Macys is a doggy eat doggy world…store managers probably do not want to rock the boat on this one…they have enough on their shoulders.

Store managers are able to request hours for their stores. They can get hours changed if they want to, pending approval. They usually are always approved. So speak to her/him.

It’s not Jeff. It’s Marc. Jeff hasn’t been involved in any store for awhile now. We barely see him except at quarterly earnings and a few marketing appearances.

It’s all Marc.

We have another one day (three day) sale coming up the weekend of Friday 2/3 - Sunday 2/5. All three days have unnecessary extended hours. Friday and Saturday we are open until 10 pm and Sunday until 8 pm. When we have unnecessary extended hours we have more call outs.
