Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

No union = TK will continue to bully employees

Wake up, people. He’s bullying you, taking away benefits, most of your bonus and threatening you with losing your job if you don’t come to the office.

He’d think twice if he had to battle with a union. I have coworkers who have expressed interest, what do we have to lose but that CEO swine f***er threatening us every day with our livelihood?

" If people have legit ideas of how to start standing our ground together, LFG."

The best approach so far seems to be leaving CSG for better opportunities elsewhere. Think about it. Clinging to a pointless job in a toxic environment, at a declining company, is simply insane. It's not a viable proposition worth fighting over.

@yet - I could argue all day about unions but it’s not very productive.

Honest question, what do you suggest as a first step? I don’t work near an office but I want to support those who do but can’t or don’t want to return to office. If people have legit ideas of how to start standing our ground together, LFG.

I’ll repost my reply to OmG! uNiOnS are the answer!
If you’re calling for a Union you have either never worked in a union shop or you really don’t care about improving your situation. Do you realize in a Union you don’t get to negotiate your Salary, Bonus, or Stock? If you are the brightest or hardest worker you get paid the same as the laziest on the team and if the laziest person has been in the job longer than everyone else, they get the next promotion not the person putting in extra effort trying to improve the company or their situation. And guess what, if the company goes under because the workers have Zero incentive to improve themselves, guess what the company goes under and everyone loses their Job anyway. When I worked for a union shop and during CWA negotiations they pushed us to strike, I asked our Union rep (not steward) if union management goes on strike pay too? Nope they get their regular paycheck while you get nothing for a week or two, can’t claim unemployment, and then get strike pay which is next to nothing. I’m glad I had that experience early in my career, because I realized I am my best advocate and a job is not a right. The Union had its time and place and that’s gone it’s just a grift now.
I know the person who’s pushing Unions has never worked for one or they’d be screaming Scab at all these people who are trying to explain why a union in tech is just plain D-mb..

Oh and I am worth more than a guy that’s doing less than the minimum in the same role….

"Unionization is definitely an option and on the table with coworkers that I’m talking to."

Kudos to CSG Europe for pursuing their Union-induced fantasy. What else is on the table with your coworkers? Chasing Tech Job growth in a declining economy?

“ There may be other ways to address concerns and negotiate for better treatment and benefits. It's important to keep a clear head and gather all the information before taking a step forward”

And there you have it, folks. Some vapid talking head from leadership/legal/hr is responding at the threat of unionization. What type of negotiation is TK open to? NONE! ever since he showed up here he’s been a bully to employees, demanded a return to the office, laid off thousands of people, cut our bonus in half, threatened employees with their job if we’re not chained to our computers answering every query 24/7. NEGOTIATE?? BLLSHT! Time for a Union to negotiate for us! We trusted the previous leadership, they weren’t perfect, BUT AT LEAST THEY WERENT SSHLES!!

While it may seem that the CEO is acting in a negative manner towards the employees, it is important to consider the perspective of the company as a whole. The CEO may have made these decisions in the interest of the company's financial stability and success. It is also important to remember that forming a union may not necessarily be the best solution. There may be other ways to address concerns and negotiate for better treatment and benefits. It's important to keep a clear head and gather all the information before taking a step forward

@ bug+1kS7Er9M are you aware that Citrix/CSG is in more locations than Florida? Your response is seriously short sighted and, well, just stupid. Unionization is definitely an option and on the table with coworkers that I’m talking to.

Nothing would make me laugh harder than to see TK get a taste of his own medicine (and squeal like a pig.)

Unions are still active in the UK for low-skill jobs. If you are a CSG employee in Europe perhaps you should consider employment in government, post office, railways, etc.

It's been said before. At least in Florida, unions have no power due to our laws here We are a "Right to Work" state. That means, that even if a company has a union, people can work for the company without joining the union. So what happens is the company purposely hires people who won't join the union and then the union has very little power because very few employees are members. Unions in Florida companies are not really a "thing" because of this. Several other states are the same way (someone told me Georgia is also RTW?)

"what do we have to lose" - the desperate words of someone consumed by fear.

Plan B: if you don't get your wish for a Union, ask your mother to talk to TK on your behalf and state the reasons why you are a really good boy and still deserve to be employed.

Unions suck harder than TK could ever manage, even after all the activist d-k he’s bent the knee for. You’re basically substituting one cartel for another, bro.
