A good friend and colleague were laid off. No prior warning besides the letter that was sent out. She went in to work got called in and bam next minute she was told she was being laid off . Of cause she was in shock, never expecting this. Next day she was locked out unable to do some of her work and no help from our useless, gutless manager or teamleader but yet she was told she had until February. Guttered cause she is/was the most dedicated worker, never missed a day or has never taken sick. But yet the useless people in charge get to keep their jobs. Shocking the way they went about the layoff as if they were just nothing . Their years of dedication to this company meant nothing .
I’m one of the lucky ones but am I really though? What’s install for me and the others left behind, cause up to now we have been kept in the dark. Just a quick meeting to tell us about it and to expect to take on other work . Really? Bring back the leaders, managers we used to have, who cares about the people/family of Nielsen . No future anymore at Nielsen 😢😢😔😔

Nielsen leadership should be embarrassed and it starts at the top. DK should have shown some humility and decorum after laying off hundreds and hundreds of people 2 weeks prior. Instead he implies he’s energized because of it.
There’s a balance to acknowledging the layoffs and displaying positivity for the future of Nielsen. The CEO should know how to display that balance.
This was his first address to employees after his email on 1/11 striking fear of being laid off. A note, layoffs can indicate a company is not being run well. That’s in addition to any pressure from the PE to get their investment back. Layoffs don’t reflect well on the people running the company.
We don’t want to hear from the board. We want to hear from Nielsen leadership. What do you tell the people that remain who will have less trust in your leadership? Answer questions they encourage before the town halls. Or stop asking.
In annual reviews they want you to explain how you exhibit accountability and integrity. Can I not ask that of the leadership of the company I work for?

Haha, sounds like a total sht show there at Nielsen. Glad I got my walking papers many years ago. Someone above mentioned that weasel, Karthik Rao, was there? I got a story about that mo-o:

Years ago, homeboy I guess was handed a few divisions to manage on a silver platter. Divisions that ran themselves, thanks to the hard work and sweat of many of us "lower level" employees gave for decades prior. However homeboy had a particular liking to one of the divisions because it was the Nielsen flavor of the day at the time, though pretty useless when it came to revenue. As a result, homeboy knew very little and cared even less about my division. A proven money maker. Homeboy was at the company for about a year and had yet even introduced his damn self to me or anyone I worked with. But he loved our revenue. Suddenly one day I get a email invite from homeboy's assistant (I think) asking ME...yes ME...the dude Karthick would walk by every day in the halls and ignore...to give him a lesson about a certain Nielsen area of expertise he clearly didn't have but needed ASAP before a big meeting with the corp. heads! I declined. LOL I eventually got my walking papers from Nielsen and I've always wondered if that played a part. Who knows. Who cares!

It was a disappointing display of leadership starting with the people on stage. The lack of Tech (audio n video) my gosh ! and the lack of a comprehensive real vision outside of Nielsen one. I have no hope for the future of the org. I came away feeling very empty.

I would feel energized too if I was able to give myself a 13.8 million dollar raise this year.

Then if you get your jollies off of destroying hundreds of people's lives without warning then you just might be a psychopath.

So disgusting these are not good people - not worthy of your loyalty, like Nielsen used to be in the past.

The Town Hall was unbelievable and more of the same gaslighting Nielsen plays so well. Karthik was ego tripping and his energy was all bad. We're all doomed and I want out. Heartless Buffoons..I feel no better and actually WORSE!! THEY SOOTHED NOTHING!

The CEO's own image can lead to their downfall. Even the best-trained CEO can be made to look like a fool if the information he or she is getting is inaccurate. Therefore, an efficient way of forcing them out of the job is to create a fake impression of accurate information, leading to bad decisions and the board having to dismiss the CEO

These people live and breath "corporate bullsh-t" all day long, everyday. They actually went to school to excel in the "corporate bullsh-tisim".

DK is just a puppet.
Don't expect anything from the puppet, he just plays de role to get the cash to buy cr---y stuff for his wife and then one day he will die, just as we all.
You need to see Nielsen as a place where you exchange your time for money. Nothing more.
But the fact is: time is the most important and irrecuperable asset we will ever have. Though it is so sad to trade it at Nielsen.

I see no respect, so cheerful they are, and no empathy at all... if these "Leaders" do not respect their biggest asset which is PEOPLE, what can we expect for the future?... this Townhall is simply disgusting, so sad... so sad

It feels like a bad episode of Silicon Valley watching these people try to conduct a meeting. They keep talking about “ALLL THIS ENERGY IN THE ROOM” yet when they pan to the audience they’re practically asleep. They also mentioned how important transparency and clarity is which is funny because they consistently fail to provide both. I hope they get eaten up at the end when they open up for questions.
