All in all, it is no longer possible to work here and not be constantly worried about whether you will be laid off or not. Of course, this makes the already toxic atmosphere in the company even more toxic. I am quite prepared in case they tell me that I am no longer needed here. I would not want to miss the severance pay even though it is not particularly generous here, but the wait is unbearable. Has there ever been worse atmosphere here than it is now?

It's truly exhausting.. here in solidarity.
I've been @Dell for almost 25 years and I've only experienced this uncertaintity in 2001, 2008 and now, all when there was a bad economy. This will pass, hopefully those that want to stay will keep their jobs. For the people that don't like it, you should spend more time finding a new job than posting your cr@p. Life is too short to be unhappy when you can do something else.
The initial poster seems to live in the land of pain and misery. what ever happens will happen. Hate is not the way to go. Corrupted, uneasy mind along with disturbed.
Time to stop feeding the trolls.
I thought I was clear on this.
Your panic and worry does not add value.
@nvt - then what does add value? You being rude? Prefect example of my not understanding why people are so awful here. Why are YOU here?
You worrying adds no value to this site and or other people looking at this site.
I don’t understand why some people are so nasty on this site. I come here because I’m genuinely worried and hope that I can learn more about what’s going on.
There are layoffs happening right now in TA and my heart hurts for anyone losing their job.
Brilliant post
This is typical in every company during economic downturns or internal politics. Its not better at another company.
Next week you should know if it’s in two weeks
May need to wait a week while your profile is being reviewed for layoff
Could be two weeks.
Possibly three weeks
Will be in the next quarter so possibly longer
Definitely happening
empathy for what? Someone being worried about a situation they have control over?
Animals will literally eat their young in the wild. What's your point about humans again?
Gotta love the way humans eat their own when folks are looking for empathy.
Sorry but you sound like a hysterical 12 yo
If you feel like you are unneeded, than you probably are. If that’s the case you getting let go is the right move for the company/share holder. We must cut fat to ensure stock prices reflect positively on future earnings.
