We keep hearing about layoffs the same day the media gets the info. Outside of that, we know exactly nothing. That's not normal. Our management should be transparent and let us know what's going on as it's happening. At least we'd be able to prepare better for what's to come. And we'd know when it's finally over. Some transparency would go a long way.

Honestly, i think people didn't expect this from Salesforce because of the "ohana" amd values BS sh*t they force-feed you from day one. I'm just glad everyone at SF can now see through the BS.
You must be new to the tech industry. Secrecy is the norm. I've seen CEOs blatantly state there will be no layoffs and 2 weeks later announce layoffs.
Management needs you to keep producing widgets until they’re done with you. If they tell you your expiration date with the company, you’ll stop producing their widgets and start looking for a new widget shop. So they plan your demise and let you produce as much as you can… right up until they push you out the door.
You are a human resource. You get an employee Id the day you sign on. It’s your asset tag. Like a cow gets on her ear. The company doesn’t care about you. Everything they do “for” you is calculated to make you produce more widgets until they decide they’re done with you.
