Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

The market is flooded with good talent

Perhaps someone thinks it's a better option to stay here and wait for severance pay, but I'm really fed up with this place and I can't wait to leave. What I notice is that Citrix on the resume does not seem to help in the least in getting a new job!?

Interviews really don't care about the ups and downs of a formerly decent sized public company. They care about what you did there, how well you did it, and what you know about their business. The fate of a former (or even current) employer is not an issue in the tech world.

Agreed, prior experience at a company that has been portrayed in the tech press as a failed legacy software vendor is not helpful in our job search efforts. Regardless, I'm still focused on finding a new job in 2023 where my contributions will be appreciated.

Just the thought of experiencing "life after CSG" inspires me to keep searching.

Like the rest of us:

  1. Smile
  2. Say you’ll get right on it when asked to do something
  3. Don’t put excessive effort in your job. You’ll probably be gone this year.
  4. Network with friends, family, school buds, former co-workers. Dust off your resume and update it. NETWORK.
  5. Wait for that severance package. Once you receive it, pat yourself on the back for getting off the Titanic on one of the few remaining life boats.
  6. Remember to tell people to avoid this company in any capacity possible.
