Some of my colleagues are quite convinced that there will be no layoffs in the near future, but the atmosphere here is pretty tense. As soon as everyone starts talking about layoffs, that's a big red flag in my opinion. I hope for the best, but at the same time I wonder if layoffs are imminent.

Anyone heard any rumors? I agree, everything seems way too quiet...if you look at the news now, layoffs are happening everywhere
I work for a competitor, and I'm friggin' perplexed by the complacency around layoffs myself.
Same deal, everyone says "no problem"... But there's no orders. My time isn't billable to anyone...
I think the ax is coming, but I'm the only one who believes this.
Also, I've noticed companies now, don't announce.. it's just "not happening" until one day you wake up and can't log into your computer.
I won't be supprised when it happens.
