Getting paid handsomely to keep a seat warm due to rampant overhiring and then officially paid to do nothing but search for a new job.
This is going to be the most discomfort a lot of people have experienced and it's going to show just how out of touch many are. If they are half as talented as they claim to be there are plenty of startups looking for bright people to lead them to be the next round of FAANG companies.
Who wants to sit around glueing APIs together anyway.
