Thread regarding Alphabet Inc. (Google) layoffs

hate on google employees

Every failures, old necks in this forum are hating hard on ex google employees. The hate comes from the fact that the haters couldnt cut it and are jealous of googlers achievements. Googlers got paid way more than the average folks.

No, googlers wont struggle to get new jobs. You will shine out there with less stress and probably less work. People will listen to you not because you are some genius but because you have seen and worked with different technologies that can help another company. Thats why you are still valuable. Thats why companies would rather hire new people than keep current employees. For new point of views. Your previous employee has already comfirm that you can cut it with rounds of interview and tests.

Haters, stop hating on people becomes they demand better pay, respect for their skills and knowledge. You are a bottom feeder. Nothing to provide to an employer. Thats why you keep complaining about offshore hiring but cant prove to your employer that you are worth 100k more the Phillipines

@OP I am extremely sorry for my google level problem. Your royal highness "ex"Google this is your red carpet. Walk on the red carpet with only. I will personally make sure your entitled immature and motor mouth message about hiring new employees rather than keeping current employees is royally presented to Google management. I will also give you roses for demeaning people not in your league who are demanding better pay and respect for their skills and knowledge.

Google hasn't had many externally visible achievements that would make us jealous of not working there. Google's ad business is the result of buying Doubleclick years back. Their ad business subsidizes their internal extravagance and LPA projects. They'd be nothing without Doubleclick. They bought Youtube and Android.

Open source wise perhaps Go is their biggest achievement? K8 is unreliable, and some of us wonder whether it'd better to run code on bare metal or VMs. Angular is dead. Their achievements are not at the level of Sun or SGI.

Their infrastructure and scale is something to marvel, but now it's all for serving search results curated by the feds. I can't imagine being proud to work here, wanting to work there or any FAANG.

OP is missing the point. Those of us who are pointing out reality are not haters. I think G is a great tech company, but it's not immune from the same stuff that every other business faces as it loses its luster. G is not fundamentally any different, the people are not more talented - this is just arrogance. Go talk to people at Kodak, Yahoo, same story - it was super hard to get hired there at some point, did not mean that it was actually superior - it meant that it was highly desirable. G is facing reality now that market dominance is fading. Generally speaking, and this has been true forever, most people with good brands on their resumes will have an easier time finding jobs than others, but the "demands" of Google employees make them look like immature, spoiled workers. Plenty of us are turned off by that and don't need to bring that into our orgs to be successful.

I’m laughing at them because they’re acting like spoiled, entitled children on LinkedIn. Imagine being a hiring manager and reading a candidate’s rant.

Job loss is sad. Sometimes it’s unfair but there’s usually a business reason for it. It’s not employment for life.

Be sad, get over it. Grow up.
