Are tech workers finding jobs quickly? With all the layoffs including Google announcement of 12K today, it is really bad. I wonder when Intel will announce major layoffs as so far there has not been really any.

Retail and fast food seem to have lots of openings. I see many "hiring" signs posted.
Don't worry. Intel just laid off some of their best people. They won't have a problem finding another job.
google layoffs # is how much they typically hire every 6 months.. so much noise. Yes its tougher than 2 years ago but with severance and benefits, you will be OK.
It depends on what you know and who you know as to whether the job market is bad out there. That’s nothing new.
The job market will get worse before it gets better.
Meh, job market is not as bad as you would think. 78% of folks laid off from tech industry have found new jobs within three months, which is quite good. You just have to look outside of the tech industry, plenty of other folks are hiring.
Half my team at intel was laid off so I don't know what what you mean by "hardly any" I've already had majority of my work affected by layoffs since late November.
It is getting really bad in the job market. Intel seems to be avoiding making any specific numbers release. I have seen references to Intel not commenting on questions relating to total numbers in multiple news articles.
Google is giving much better payout than Intel:
In the US:
We’ll pay employees during the full notification period (minimum 60 days).
We’ll also offer a severance package starting at 16 weeks salary plus two weeks for every additional year at Google, and accelerate at least 16 weeks of GSU vesting.
We’ll pay 2022 bonuses and remaining vacation time.
We’ll be offering 6 months of healthcare, job placement services, and immigration support for those affected.
Outside the US, we’ll support employees in line with local practices.
