I am a laid off middle aged former H1B. Now a US citizen. I gave my best years to Microsoft. I see now that once Microsoft no longer could pressure me with H1B status they laid me off just like they treated all the employees myself and other H1B’s displaced. To those like “Mary” in the video, I am truly sorry.
Cut cost first to meet revenue and profit target. Almost any level of talent and skill can be rehire later when or if needed. No one is irreplaceable. Remember that!
