So those of us in the Chicago office just got an internal memo saying that the office is being shut permanently and we are to be on remote work.
Based on a September 2020 article, this office has 600 employees.
For Illinois, the WARN act will be triggered if they layoff more than one third of the employees at a site, which would be around 200 people on here.
I have a strong feeling that a big reason David Kenny has not revealed the number of people being laid off is to give a measly 1 month severance (if the WARN act is triggered they have to give us 2 months of severance legally).
Usually when an office is shut down, layoffs for the employees attending there follow soon. We need to stand united so that we atleast get the compensation due for those who lose their jobs.
