Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

It’s like a mystery drama. We like the USA but not US sports

Soon enough jobs will be lost and it won’t matter what I say. My job eliminated or reimagined to align with some mysterious global “me” non Olympic sport. Perhaps pub darts or something individual vomit induced inclusive shadow of glory. Looking at our American leadership group is like the United Nations of ineptitude. The leader gets on LinkedIn boasting about football viewership yet I can’t find football gear for my preteen kids. Do we even still make youth football uniforms or shoes ? Let alone anything for kids besides soccer items? That’s besides the point. The focus in America seems to be everything UN-American , remember it’s a German brand. After all. Oh to have that American at Taco Bell back on campus. Adidas America is stuck, much like our current leadership anything and anyone great is gone or broke and it can’t be fixed. The brand gets younger and d-mber and just numb to the sound. And in less than 4 weeks things will be sad yet again for some of us. We know the monster is under the bed but yet we keep lying in the bed we made. And for all of us that aren’t allowed to speak I speak.

adi has used a variety of methods: "Staggered Restructuring" to avoid timeline of #employees affected in 30-90 days, "Employees Accepting Voluntary Separation Packages Not Included in WARN Act Job Loss Calculations", "Moving functions to other offices while consolidating roles" - all of these have occurred at adi, and they have never had to use WARN.

No there are not ways around WARN unless it’s a minor layoff of a company of less than 50 people.

I don't know that adidas has ever filed a "WARN" notice. That doesn't mean there haven't been layoffs. There are ways to not meet the requirements.

There is no WARN notice filed with the state of Oregon. Don’t start rumors unless you have the goods. You can be part of the problem or part of the solution.

It really Is like a mystery drama (always has been really ;) - but just imagine what our now internal, ex-BCG & McKinsey 'strategy' folks (using adi as a resume/CV generating device) will cook up...!

The original poster quoted 4 weeks which according to my west philly math is mid February. I've Been hearing the words "re-org" and "re-structure" which is also known as pack your bags you didn't make the cut for past two weeks. The post is hilarious for sure, I love when no one mentions Kayne and cuts to the chase. The germans don't know sport in america could. never be truer, pub darts never funnier . Who remembers hours of singing how great NPS scores are? That's not happening anymore its more like win the race not to be mentioned in the press let's win the discount channel. Let's destroy the brand , drive the share price down and bring on more changes. The german word is Komödie

"And in less than 4 weeks things will be sad" --> Has a timeline been communicated to you about layoffs?
We were told that by mid-February the budget for 2023 will be clear, but no mentions of layoffs communication.
