How can you layoff someone that has been with you for 15 yrs ???? Then not even give any severance !!!!

That’s pretty crazy. My department at Quest had a major layoff that occurred back in 2015. People who were laid off was given two weeks severance for every year they worked at Quest.
Just rebadged 300 tech employees to HCL. A weasel move to avoid paying severance. Who knows how long HCL will keep us?
MANY people were laid off from Quest in Q4 and layoffs have continued in Q1 2023. Former employees lives have been devastated, and some have been lost, by being “thrown away” after decades of loyalty and hard work. But Jimmy Davis and Co. only care about how much they make.
More layoffs coming unfortunately.
They don’t call it a lay off. It’s a reduction in force. Meaning they just eliminate the position. And yeah they will sc--w you out of severance.
Quest is a great company to work for. This person was probably a slacker. Ihave been with Quest Diagnostics for 30 years and I have never seen anyone laid-off.
