Are there gonna be layoffs in January or what? I mean, we had no hours during the holidays and I heard they didn’t make money, we will find out the budget after inventory numbers are finalized. But still, I would think there would be some layoffs.

Another restructuring is coming.
Layoffs are happening in the DC locations got confirmation. Even online not helping enough. MLO location I work in has never been this slow.
It’s obvious Karen Scott is being replaced by a Black owned brand. The saying is ‘Go woke, go broke!’
Jeff needs to realize shopping habits have changed since COVID. WE are open 3 hours more than the mall, STUPID. No customers after the mall closes, plus we are sitting ducks for the criminal element and no security to walk us to our cars.
I heard they are taking Karen Scott out of the stores - jeez nothing left to sell because the good stuff gets stolen EVERY DAY!
No one is rushing to Macys at 9pm to buy charter club shirts.
Spring 2023 ownership targets are out. Let the layoffs begin!
Don’t think anybody getting laid off this year. They would have announced it already.
Besides the shoplifting aspect, could have made more money if you have people to physically put your goods on the floor. They came off trucks, sat on docks and then shoved into stockrooms with no where on the selling floor to go with it and no hands to work the floors to try and get it out, It stayed on racks and went first mark, last act and then salvage and never saw the light of the selling floor to get into a customers hands. Sickening.....
All to save a few bucks in payroll...
Maybe we could have made our target if we didn't allow millions of dollars of merchandise walk out the door in the name ot equity. You live by sword you die by the sword. You gave BLM millions of dollars to not loot your stores... and they looted your stores. We don't stop shoplifters even when we could but.... we choose to not to in the name of equity. I didn't realize CEOs of companies could decide just how it wants to die. I thought their job was to serve customers and earn dividends for their stockholders. At this point how do the stockholders have any faith is company to make a profit. They're so afraid of a lawsuit it has crippled its own success. Just think if we could have actually sold all that merchandise that was stolen. Its appalling.
No more overtime. Managers will be asking you to leave early.
How long have you been in retail? There are always layoffs and hours reductions in all of retail in January and February due to the drop off of business.
Of course there will be layoffs. Jeff said we must be agile and adapt to the store environment. More online sales = fewer customers in store = fewer staff . You bet the job growth in the store will be fulfillment and receiving which are all part time
Wait until you see the Spring Transition 2023 document with the targets
