Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Is CSG Doomed to Fail/Go Bankrupt?

Virtualization is a legacy technology. Increasingly, more and more customers are migrating away from their legacy apps to SaaS offerings. Citrix's answer to the transition to SaaS was SPA/Gateway Service for SSO/Secure Access to SaaS. However, Okta, ZScaler, and a host of other companies already have a very strong market foothold there. It seems CSG is a slowly sinking ship, and the vast layoffs are just hastening that.

the growth is going to come from acquisition not any of the existing businesses, CSG is being designed as an efficient holding company for new vista / elliot acquisitions.

profitability will come in the short term by cutting costs. last year product groups were impacted, this year it seems to be primarily administrative, sales and support functions.

all that matters for the Citrix BU is to keep it on life support and as much of the revenue from existing customers coming in. the Citrix BU has yet to realize they are no longer in an environment where they will be allowed to try a lot of experiments and see what sticks - it will all be minor feature and quality incrementalism from here on out

No one at the top cares about growth... everything is optimized for showing a great bottom line, and creating a perception of growth through M&A (which will also get butchered - I feel sorry for them...)
