What do you think motivates TK? Gets up every morning to do the sh-t he does? Goes to bed feeling the way he does?
How does one get motivated in life for that?

Honestly, I think TK is turned on by waterboarding and other types of torture. My guess is he was bullied for being an obese, bald kid (think Charlie Brown) and figured it was his life’s mission to spread his personal misery to as many people that he could.
Money is a great motivator.
He probably has a low opinion of everyone else, and flat out doesn’t care what happens to these people. He’s a corporate raider discguised as a tech executive.
Money. TK won’t get his until he turns Citrix/TIBCO into cash cows for the equity.
As an outsider, he brings a different point of view and ruthlessness to the table. He don’t care what he cuts as long as he makes more money.
After 2 years of this, he’ll leave and find somewhere else to leave his mark. He might even wind up back at Broadcom as their CEO and he might buy what’s left of CSG.
Krause must have been bored at Broadcom, once there was nothing left to cut from Symantec and CA. He craved a new opportunity to do what he does best, and PE needs mercenaries like him to do the dirty work that their Senior Partners refuse to do.

Companies don't exist to provide jobs, they exist to make money. The job he has is to maximize that, both short and long term. None of this today is personal.
It's true, there are lots of people on LinkedIn who describe themselves as 'down-sizing' and 'right-sizing' consulting experts. It's just another job to them and they don't think about the people's lives they impact. Private Equity is home to many of these people.
He is just Executioner . He gets order from vista and partners . Vista learned to destroy companies from Goldman Sachs . It is Just capitalism . there is no point blaming TK. He will be gone soon .
I'm sure money is part of it. Also, there are many people who believe in strict capitalism and don't care about consequences to people. I remember the movie "Wall Street" where Bud asks Gekko why he wants to break up the airline, and Gekko said "because it's breakable." I am sure that everyone at Vista loves that line.
